AVX brings the full sound track, as designed for theaters, into the real world of twenty-first century film viewing. With AVX, the most subtle sounds rise above the ambient noise. Background noise is masked by the AVX soundtrack. Soft passages are crystal clear, even at very low volumes.

AVX brings new life into the challenging environment of watching films in cars, SUVs, jets, waiting rooms, the beach or wherever laptops, portable DVD players and micro-video recorders are being used now ... and in the future. On the go, or just quietly watching a film while the kids sleep, AVX encoding magically reproduces the full depth of the theater sound experience.

AVX psycho-acoustically encoded sound tracks are decoded by the brain as completely natural, immersive, and true to the exact theater experience intended by the director.

AVX overview

Film sound tracks are painstakingly designed to connect with our emotional triggers.
A good film carries us away from our current circumstances to the magical land of the director's
imagination. Unfortunately, more often than not, this special language is garbled and the
magic is gone, unless the film is viewed in the controlled acoustic environment of the theater.

AVX psycho-acoustically encodes the subtle aural cues that touch the heart, so they are
preserved in uncontrolled listening environments. With AVX, movies can be enjoyed anywhere,
and produce the emotionally immersive experience intended by the director.

The AVX encoded sound track brings out the warmth, subtlety and clarity of the original
sound track. With AVX, every word is clear. Each sound is identifiable.
The subtlest music cue is full and rich. The frustration and confusion of unintelligible
dialog and unidentifiable sound effects is no longer a problem. AVX eliminates the need
for constant volume adjustments. AVX replaces overly compressed uncomfortable hissy,
screechy and painfully loud sounds with a warm, friendly soundtrack that immerses the viewer
in the movie instead of ambient noise.

The AVX patent pending encoding process is the result of intensive research and development
spanning six years and two continents, using data from every major aircraft, airline and driving
condition, advanced proprietary digital technology and modeling, and 30 years of Emmy
and Golden Reel winning film sound design and mixing experience. AVX encoding
is compatible with all in-flight systems and requires no changes or new equipment.
Best of all, AVX, unlike THX and Dolby, which require costly exhibition site upgrades,
plays perfectly on all portable systems. The modest AVX license fee, costs less than the
already required Dolby license fee, and is an inexpensive way to promote DVD sales.

AVX will influence a mobile society's choices of programming and venues exactly as
previous advances in technology influenced moviegoer's choices of theaters.
Movie studio's images will be enhanced by their embracing the latest technology - AVX
.

Windows Media

AVX comparison film clips (mixed with road/jet/ambient noise to simulate the real world)

(512 k bits/second Windows Media. For Mac scroll down. Audio artifacts are caused by streaming and not by AVX encoding.)

These film clips are simulations to illustrate how AVX encoding makes the even the softest soundtrack passages full and clear with portable players at any location. AVX brings the full sound track to the 21st century.

The film clips are from 'SECOND HAND LIONS*'. The first version of each clip is unprocessed. The second version is with AVX encoding. To simulate real world surroundings, all clips are mixed with noise at 73 DBSPL (similar in level to the interior of a SUV, jet or city exterior location.) All clips are at the same volume level. Most clips start with louder sounds that sound similar with both versions. You will notice that AVX dramatically raises quiet sounds that are drowned by noise, and makes them clear and intelligible.
